Mrs Laura Wan-Bennett - Principal & Ballet teacher

 

 

                                                      

 

Laura Wan Studied at Middlesex University and graduated with a Ba Hons in Performing Arts specialising in Dance. Afterwards, she continued to study at London Studio Centre for 2 years to gain a diploma in Musical Theatre.

After many years of professional work which includes Top of the Pops, backing dancer for Madonna, The Brit Awards and Royal Variety Performance with Gwen Stefani, small acting roles in The Bill and Holby City. As well as commercial modelling for HSBC and Corporate industries for Insurance,Medicine and Nokia.

She studied at The Centre to qualify for her DDI teaching qualification and then at Dennard Theatre Arts for her DDE teaching qualification in Imperial Ballet. Whilst working professionally, Laura taught at various different dancing schools before opening Studio 88 School of Performing Arts in 2006.

She hopes to instil a passion of dance to all Studio 88 pupils in hope that it will enhance their life skills and create an intelligent dancer.

Miss Aliye Nafi - Tap and Modern Teacher


 

Aliye started dancing at the age of 8 at the Italia Conti Associate School in Chislehurst. At the age of 16 she started at the Italia Conti Academy in London on half a scholarship for 3 years. She graduated with a Trinity College Diploma in Musical Theatre. She continued her training at the Italia Conti Arts Centre in Guildford, graduating again with ISTD Teaching qualifications in Tap, Modern, and Imperial Ballet. 
Her credits include: two Harry Potter films, Cinderella Panto at the Greenwich theatre,  music video. A summer season as a resident dancer at Fantasy Island in Skegness, four seasons of touring with Chaplins Pantomimes, most recently as Wishee Washee in Aladdin. A Volunteer as a dancer in the closing ceremony in the London 2012 Olympic Games, and a Homie Honey dancer in the My Aerial Home Christmas Show

 

            Miss Amy Gallagher - Lower school & Street Teacher

 

                                                        

 

 

Amy has been with Studio 88 since she was 8 years old where she developed a true love of dance and has danced in every Studio 88 Show. Amy has performed in Cinderella panto at the Stag Theatre and studied at The Centre Performing Arts College where she gained a Diploma in Dance Performance and her DDI in ISTD Tap & Modern.

She has been Assisting and Teaching for Studio 88 since she was 16.

             Miss Saffron Armstrong - Tap & Modern teacher

 

                                                       

 

Saffron has trained at Bird College in London and received a degree in Musical Theatre. Whilst in training Saffron qualified as an DDI ISTD Tap & Modern teacher.

She has been teaching children from 2yrs and upwards for 4yrs and is excited to be part of Studio 88 school and team.

 

Miss Sophie Linder-Lees - Musical Theatre & Singing Teacher 

                                          

 Sophie is orginally from Nottingham and went on to train full time at Performers College in Essex. She graduated the college as Winner of the Music award and with the 3rd year award. 

Sophie has gone on to a career across the world in Musical Theatre. Some of the role to date include: 'Glinda' in Wicked (West End); 'Janet' Rocky Horror show (Italian tour & Oxford playhouse).

Sophie has most recently played 'Mary Pickford' in The Biograph Girl at the Finborough theatre and the 'Mermaid' in Big Fish the Musical with Kelsey Grammar.  

Sophie's next project sees her in 'Magic Mike' LIVE (Hippodrome ,London). After taking Las Vegas by storm, Channing Tatum is bringing a brand new production of Magic Mike LIVE to the stage in London.

 Sophie is proud to be part of the Studio 88 team to help nurture their confidence and healthy mind set to the Performing Arts. 

 

 

                          Miss Katie Wells - Lower school Teacher

 

                                                          

 

Katie has been with Studio 88 since she was 10 years old where she developed a keen interest in performance but specifically in Acting. Katie has worked three contracts in the Character and Parade Department at Disneyland Paris.

After studying for a year with the Fourth Monkey Company, this inspired Katie to study at Queen Mary University , London for a Ba hons in English with Creative Writing with a view to script write for TV and Film.

She has been Assisting and Teaching for Studio 88 since she was 18.
